Actor Robo Shankar dies after collapsing on set, Kamal Haasan pens emotional tribute

Tamil actor and comedian Robo Shankar, aged 46, tragically passed away after collapsing on a film set. He was rushed to a private hospital in Chennai, where he was admitted in critical condition. Despite intensive care efforts, his health deteriorated, and he succumbed to his illness a few hours later.

According to reports, Robo Shankar was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) shortly before his passing. His condition had worsened earlier in the day, and he eventually succumbed to his illness.

 

Robo Shankar, known for his comedic roles in Tamil cinema, was a fan of veteran actor Kamal Haasan. Reacting to his loss, Haasan penned an emotional tribute on X. As per the translation, he wrote, “Robo Shankar. Robo is just a pseudonym. In my dictionary, you are a human. You're my younger brother. Will you just leave me and go? Your job is done, you left. My job remains unfinished. You left tomorrow for us. Therefore, tomorrow is ours.”

 

 

 

Robo Shankar is survived by his wife, Priyanka Sankar, and their daughter, Indraja Shankar. His mortal remains will be taken to his Chennai residence, and his last rites are scheduled for Friday.

 

The news of his untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the Tamil film industry, with fans and colleagues mourning the loss of a beloved actor.
