Jang Sung Kyu, Yang Dong Geun, Kim Jin Woo and more donate money amid earthquakes in Turkey & Syria

South Korean celebrities are coming together to aid the victims affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday. According to Korea JoongAng Daily, entertainer Jang Sung Kyu said Wednesday through his Instagram that he donated 23 million won (over Rs. 15 Lakhs) to the Korean Red Cross to be used as aid.

"I hope no one is harmed anymore," he said. "I pray for a quick recovery of the two countries." Additionally, Yang Dong Geun also visited the Turkish Embassy in Seoul and met with the Ambassador on Thursday. The singer-actor reportedly donated 10 million won (over Rs. 6.55 Lakhs).

 

"I was heart-broken by the picture of the father holding the hand of his dead child," Yang Dong Geun said. "I send my condolences to the people of Turkey as a father myself." Meanwhile, Kim Jin Woo, a.k.a. Winner’s Jinu, also made a generous donation of 10 million won (over Rs. 6.55 Lakhs) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.

 

Rapper DinDin and actor Yim Si Wan also made a thoughtful donation of 10 million won over (over Rs. 6.55 Lakhs) each to the Korean Red Cross. Through her Instagram, volleyball player Kim Yeon Koung has also been encouraging people to contribute to the cause.
