Christopher Nolan confirms cameo of daughter Flora in Oppenheimer who gets blown up in nuclear explosion

Director Christopher Nolan is known for his charismatic filmmaking and unique storytelling. Fans are excited that the phenomenal director is coming back with another movie after 3 years. Christopher is back with a story about the creation of the first atomic bomb by Dr J. Robert Oppenheimer.  In Oppenheimer, his daughter Flora makes a cameo.

While speaking to the Telegraph during the promotions, Nolan revealed that his wife Emma Thomas and daughter Flora had visited him on the sets of the movie during the shoot. He needed a nameless woman whose face is damaged by the nuclear explosion. He then had an idea to cast his daughter Flora.  “We needed someone to do that small part of a somewhat experimental and spontaneous sequence,” Nolan said. “So it was wonderful to just have her sort of roll with it.”

 

“Truthfully, I try not to analyze my own intentions,” he said. “But the point is that if you create the ultimate destructive power it will also destroy those who are near and dear to you. I suppose this was my way of expressing that in what, to me, were the strongest possible terms.”

 

Produced by Universal Pictures (distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery), Oppenheimer will release on July 21 across theatres in India and advance booking across IMAX theatres in India have already successfully opened.
