Salman Khan released the grand trailer of his much-awaited film, Sikandar in a multiplex in Mumbai. He was joined by actors Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj and Anjini Dhawan, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director A R Murugadoss. A R Murugadoss began his career making Tamil films and then made a blockbuster debut in Hindi with Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini (2008). Hence, it was a surprise to know that Murugadoss had manifested working with Salman Khan long back and also his Bollywood connection.

A R Murugadoss’ Manifestation Story: From a Fan to Salman Khan’s Director

 

A R Murugadoss said, “Long back, I was a struggling AD (assistant director). I wanted to watch a shoot and hence, I went to Prasad Studios, Chennai to watch a shoot. I requested the security guard to allow me inside. He allowed me but with two conditions - stand in the corner and don't talk to anyone, and secondly, I'll have to leave in 20 minutes.”

 

A R Murugadoss agreed and hence, he was allowed access. He added, “I entered. I had no idea what shoot it was. Suddenly, I saw Sridevi ma'am. I was amazed to see Sridevi ma'am (for the first time)! Then suddenly, I also see a hero's backside.”

 

Salman Khan found it funny and asked his director, “Backside?” It led to a lot of laughs. Murugadoss continued, “He was combing his hair. I tried to see who it was. He turned and it was none other than Salman sir!”

 

A R Murugadoss continued, “I tried to go one step forward. But the security guard looked at me sternly. He also told me that my time was up. I left but at that very moment, I thought, 'One day, I'll direct him in a film'! After so many years, I finally directed him!”

 

Sikandar releases in cinemas on March 30.
