Shefali Shah recalls first meeting with Ranveer Singh, calls him ‘Pure heart and Sheer madness’

Amid the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, actor Shefali Shah has shared a personal note recalling her first interaction with co-star Ranveer Singh, highlighting his energy and collaborative spirit.

Taking to Instagram, Shah revisited their initial meeting during the rehearsal of the song Gallan Goodiyaan in Mumbai. Describing the moment, she wrote, “I was lifted off the ground by trespassing arms,” adding that she initially reacted with surprise before recognising Singh. She further recalled that the actor greeted her enthusiastically, saying, “Shefu, let’s make a kick-ass film,” marking the beginning of their association.

 

Reflecting on his personality, Shah described Singh as someone who “has no filters” and whose ability to express emotions is “almost childlike.” She noted that his passion and warmth extend beyond performance, stating that he treats collaborators with genuine importance and is “completely a team player.” The actor also highlighted his approach to filmmaking, emphasising that he understands when to step back for the benefit of the narrative. Recalling their work on Dil Dhadakne Do, where she played his mother, Shah shared that Singh continued to support her even after the film’s release. She revealed that he watched the film quietly and later reached out with appreciation, describing his compliments as “never restrained” and “absolutely genuine.”

 

Praising his craft, Shah said she considers herself “a huge fan” of Singh, adding that his performances are layered yet effortless. She concluded by calling him “pure heart and sheer madness,” noting that his honesty and vulnerability are what define his on-screen presence.

 

The note comes as Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, continues to receive strong audience response and industry appreciation.
