Sanju: The mystery behind Anushka Sharma's role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer revealed

Sanjay Dutt's biopic Sanju, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt has got everyone anticipating to witness the trailer as well as the film. As the excitement to witness the trailer of Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju was at its peak, the trailer was released on May 30 which has left the audience speechless. Filmmaker Rajkumar  Hirani released posters featuring main characters in the film iincluding Anushka Sharma's guest appearance. From the poster, she resembled early Madhuri Dixit who donned curly hair. While it is unknown whether it was intensional or just mere conincidence, Rajkumar Hirani finally revealed who she will be playing in the film.

As promised, director Rajkumar Hirani shared the details of Anushka Sharma's role in Sanju at the trailer launch on May 30. "Anushka is playing a biographer from London who comes to India. Sanjay wanted someone to write his story but she doesn’t want to. She is basically playing a mix of me and Abhijat (writer Abhijat Joshi),” Hirani said.

 

Anushka Sharma is seen in an all different avatar, donning a retro look with short curly hair in the trailer.  The actress plays a pivotal role in the film helping the story to unravel. After playing the leading lady in Rajkumar Hirani's PK, the actress will be seen in a special appearance in the biopic.

 

Written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film will also star an ensemble cast in addition to Ranbir Kapoor which includes Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor and Dia Mirza amongst others.

 

Produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films in association with Fox Star Studios, Sanju is all set to be released on 29th June 2018.
