Salim Khan and his wife Salma Khan marked their 61st wedding anniversary on November 17 with a warm, private gathering of close family and friends at their son Sohail Khan’s residence in Mumbai.

The milestone event included appearances by Bollywood big names, Salman Khan, Helen, Sonakshi Sinha, and Zaheer Iqbal. Helen, Salim’s second wife, posed for the cameras and waved at photographers before entering the party, symbolising her place in the closely-knit Khan family.

 

Salim and Salma first tied the knot in 1964, long before Salim gained fame with iconic films like Sholay, Zanjeer, and Deewar. Over the years, they raised four children together. Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail, and Alvira.

 

Reflecting on their early days, Salim once revealed that he would secretly meet Salma until he felt it was the right time to approach her family. He also shared how Salma’s father was initially uneasy about his religion, but Salim reassured him, stating it would never be an issue in their marriage.

 

Later, in 1981, Salim married Helen, but he never divorced Salma, and the family has maintained a respectful and unified bond. The celebration was not only a testament to Salim and Salma’s long-lasting partnership, but also to the harmony of their blended family.
