OMG 2 vs Gadar 2: Akshay Kumar pays musical homage to Sunny Deol starrer; sings ‘Udja Kale Kawan’ in Pankaj Tripathi starrer

Akshay Kumar has taken the high road in the face of competition from Sunny Deol's film Gadar 2. Keeping the competition aside, Akshay has paid tribute to Gadar in his latest release Oh My God 2, which has released on the same day as Gadar 2, that is August 11.

Kumar has sung the song ‘Udja Kale Kawan’ from Gadar in a scene of OMG 2. For the unversed, ‘Udja Kale Kawan’ was a huge hit when Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was released in 2001. In OMG 2, Akshay sings the song in a scene when Kanti Sharan Mugdal (played by Pankaj Tripathi) is trying to find a way to defend his son in court on the next hearing.

Speaking of OMG 2, the Akshay Kumar starrer revolves around the subject of sex education in the Indian education system. Besides Kumar and Tripathi, the Amit Rai directorial also features Yami Gautam Dhar, Arun Govil, and Govind Namdev, among others. It received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

On the other hand, Gadar 2 features its original cast, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. Directed by Anil Sharma and produced jointly by Zee Studios, Anil Sharma Productions and MM Movies, it is set in the backdrop of the "Crush India" campaign in 1971.
