Mona Singh on being a part of Kohrra Season 2, says expectations made it "Daunting"
Actor Mona Singh has opened up about joining the second season of Netflix’s crime drama Kohrra, revealing that she was already deeply impressed by the show long before she became part of it.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor spoke about how her admiration for the first season played a major role in her decision to say yes. Recalling the moment she was approached for Season 2, Mona admitted that she was both excited and slightly nervous about stepping into a series that had already built a strong reputation. She described the experience as “exciting” and also “daunting,” given the expectations attached to the show after its successful first run.
Mona joins the second season as Inspector Dhanwant Kaur, a character who becomes central to the new investigation. The actor shared that what appealed to her was the depth in the writing and the realism in the narrative, which sets Kohrra apart from typical crime thrillers. Season 2 of Kohrra premiered on Netflix on February 11, 2026, and continues the show’s gritty storytelling rooted in Punjab’s rural backdrop.
The series has been receiving attention for its performances and layered storytelling, with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap also praising the show. He called Season 2 “unmissable and unmistakably world class,” adding to the growing buzz around the latest installment.
Mona’s entry into Kohrra adds another strong title to her digital portfolio, following projects like Kaala Paani and Made in Heaven. With Kohrra 2, the actor continues to explore intense, character-driven roles, proving once again her ability to adapt across genres.
