Actor Mehreen Pirzada addressed ongoing misinformation about her personal life and clarified that she was not married, after false details circulated widely across online platforms and media reports.

The rise of digital platforms and user-generated content had often led to the rapid spread of unverified information, and Mehreen had been among those affected. For a prolonged period, incorrect details on a user-edited platform reportedly claimed that the actor was married to an individual unknown to her or her family. These claims were subsequently picked up by several media outlets without verification, leading to repeated and misleading coverage about her marital status.

 

Mehreen, who predominantly worked in Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, and Hindi films and was also part of Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri, finally chose to speak out against what she described as sustained harassment. Taking to social media, the actor shared a note calling out the false reporting and the manner in which misinformation continued to be published without accountability.

 

In her statement, Mehreen said that she had stayed silent for nearly two years despite the incorrect reports, but decided to respond due to the constant distress caused by the situation. She clarified that she was not married and added that if and when she chose to get married, the news would be officially shared by her. She also expressed disappointment over certain media reports that, according to her, relied on inaccurate online sources instead of verified information.

 

Mehreen’s brother, actor Gurfateh Pirzada, also extended his support by sharing her statement on his social media, backing her stand against the false claims.

 

The incident once again highlighted the importance of responsible reporting and fact-checking, particularly when it came to personal details of public figures.
