Kim Go Eun and GOT7’s Jinyoung pose together with their adorable cells in the new poster for Yumi’s Cells 2
South Korean network tvN has unveiled a brand-new poster for the upcoming sequel of the fantasy-romance drama starring Kim Go Eun and GOT7’s Jinyoung.
As Soompi notes, Yumi’s Cells is a fantasy romance drama based on the popular webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi, from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action. Kim Go Eun plays the titular role of Yumi, an ordinary woman who struggles with expressing her feelings. The first season of Yumi’s Cells, aired in autumn 2021, which became the first K-drama ever to combine live action and 3D animation.
The new poster features the two co-stars adorably smiling and posing, held together by Yoo Babi’s giant love cell. Yumi's love cell can be seen holding her skirt, frantically trying to send her a message as it seems. Other cells like the writer cell, rational cell and emotional cell are also seen. A new cell can also be noticed beside Yumi who can be seen touching Yumi’s now-long hair. The producers of Yumi’s Cells 2 teased, “The journey of Yumi and Babi growing closer will make viewers’ hearts flutter in a new and different way from Season 1.”
“Please look forward to both Yumi’s new cells and Babi’s cells as well,” they added. “The cells, each and every one of whom has their own distinct personality, will make Yumi’s everyday life even more fun to watch.” Season 2 for Yumi’s Cells is slated to premiere on June 10.
