Well-known Bollywood actor and writer Salim Khan turned 87 on Thursday. While a section of fans wrote heart-warming birthday wishes for the veteran actor, he celebrated his special day with his family. His son and actor-producer, Arbaaz Khan took to his verified social media handle and shared a few pictures to give a sneak peek into their cosy family lunch.

In the first photo, Salim Khan can be seen posing for the camera along with his sons, Arbaaz, Sohail, and Salman Khan, daughters Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Khan, grandchildren Ahil and Ayat, and wife Helen, among others. The photo also featured all the delicacies prepared for the special day.

 

Meanwhile, in the third and fourth photos, Arbaaz can be seen posing with his dad. Instagramming the multiple-picture post, Arbaaz wrote a sweet yet short caption, which read, “Happy birthday Daddy,” followed by a red heart and hug emoticons. While Arbaaz and Salim twinned with a white shirt, Salman and Sohail can be seen sporting a casual look. On the other hand, Helen looked beautiful in pink attire.

 

As soon as he dropped the images on his feed, fans flooded the comments section with wishes for Salim. Meanwhile, many celebrities from the film fraternity also reacted to the post. Karisma Kapoor, Himansh Kohli, and Manav Vij wished a happy birthday to “Salim Uncle”.

 

 

 

Born in 1935, Salim Abdul Rashid Khan is one of the most successful Indian screenwriters. For the unversed, he is the man behind creating the "angry young man" character archetype of Amitabh Bachchan. He has penned numerous Bollywood films including Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Zanjeer, Deewaar, Kranti, and the Don franchise.
