EXCLUSIVE: Kartik Aaryan reveals people did not know his name for over 6 years – “They used to call me monologue wala ladka”
Actor Kartik Aaryan, who is freshly coming off success of his recent outing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, is all set to reunite with Kriti Sanon for his next film Shehzada by Rohit Dhawan. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the actor revealed how he was called and remembered by the term ‘monologue guy’ rather than his actual name. The actor had become a popular following his stint in Pyaar Ka Punchnama.
“There were times when I didn’t get the proper results for it like earlier, when my film became a hit, people could not recognize me even then and did not know my name,” he added. “So, they used to call me ‘monologue wala ladka or guy.’ They did not know my name for around 6-7 years, when I was already doing films. In fact, there were hit films too.”
He continued, “Then I used to wonder why is this happening. I am still not coming in the directors’ lists as in ‘I want to do film with this guy.’ So, I used to get such moments a lot but I think I have learnt through those moments and times. And now, things are sorted thankfully and things are happening.”
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan will next be seen in Shehzada with Kriti Sanon, the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The film, directed by Rohit Dhawan, will be released on February 10, 2023. He also has Captain India, Freddy, and Sajid Nadiadwala's Satyaprem Ki Katha with Kiara Advani. He has also signed another film with Sajid Nadiadwala which will be helmed by Kabir Khan.
