EXCLUSIVE: Gulshan Devaiah recalls Deepika Padukone sitting on Ranveer Singh's lap during Ram Leela shoot
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, two of Bollywood's most celebrated actors, captivated audiences with their scintillating on-screen chemistry in the 2013 film, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela. Little did the world know that their electrifying performances were accompanied by an equally captivating love story blooming behind the scenes. Speaking of the same, their Ram Leela co-star Gulshan Devaiah recently reminisced about witnessing their budding romance firsthand.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Gulshan recalled that he didn’t notice it initially, however, Deepika and Ranveer’s relationship progressed quickly during the second shooting schedule. He further mentioned that Ranveer pursued Deepika as he was instantly smitten with her.
The Shaitaan actor asserted, “First schedule mein toh humne kuch nahi dekha. Second schedule laga tha Udaipur mein, aur wahan pe notice kiya, arey godi mein baithi hai yeh, kya hogaya yeh. Humne toh notice hee nahi kiya tha guru. Yeh kab hogaya. Gaana-waana song sequence do-teen karwaye they, tab toh kuch nahin dikha humein, aake apna kaam karke chali jaati thi (In the first schedule, we didn’t see anything. It was during the second schedule in Udaipur that we noticed she was sitting on his lap. We had shot a few song sequences together, but back then we didn’t see anything. She would come, do her work, and leave).”
After Ram Leela, Ranveer and Deepika were seen in a bunch of projects together, including Bajirao Mastani and ‘83. The duo tied the knot in 2018.
On the other hand, coming back to Gulshan, he was most recently seen in Dahaad, a Prime Video original series led by Sonakshi Sinha. Gulshan has an interesting lineup with multiple projects in his kitty including Guns & Gulaab.
