Waheeda Rehman

 

 

One of the finest actress and dancer of Indian Film Industry, Waheeda Rehman is most highly regarded for her unforgettable work in movies like Pyaasa (1957), Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959), Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962) and Guide (1965) to name amongst a few. She possesses what is known as ‘dancers’ grace’ in her regular movements as well. In the late 70’s Rehman started appearing in movies as a supporting actress but her presence was most celebrated in Delhi 6 (2006) where she appeared in a full mane white hair, sari and the same grace reflecting in her movements that so many of her fans appreciated her for. She undoubtedly is the epitome of grace.

 

Sharmila Tagore

 

 

The Beghum of the Pataudi family, Sharmila Tagore is most remembered for her work in classics like Kashmir Ki Kali (1964), Aradhana (1969) and Chupke Chupke (1975) amongst a few. She was a pioneer and has broken so many stereotypes in Bollywood. One of the first main stream actress to appear in a swim-suit on screen, one of the few to work during and post pregnancy and one of the few to continue her steady work gracefully despite all these years. Her latest release Gulmohar (2023) against Manoj Bajpayee and Amol Palekar is a proof of not just her poise but also her perfection.

 

Zeenat Aman

 

 

The original style diva of Bollywood, Zeenat Aman has stolen, broken and mended many hearts at her time. The Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978) and Qurbani (1980) actress has always possessed the grace of enacting the most modern to the most meaty roles on screen. After a brief break from industry and media, Zeenat Aman did not return to the silver screen but is defiantly seen at movie screenings, award functions and is very active now-a-days on social media. Her silver mane of hair, rimless glasses and elegant kurtis are still a style statement in itself.

 

Rekha

 

 

Once disregarded for her chubbiness, Rekha took it unto herself to transform not just her looks but also every inch of her personality and since then there has been no looking back. The leading lady of Umrao Jaan (1982), not only is she one of the most celebrated actress of her time, but she is also a synonym for grace today. With her banarasi sari, hair full of garlands and the traditional sindoor, there is no one like Rekha. Even today, her presence can spark up a room, her voice can grab immediate attention and her grace can floor the stealthiest of people.

 

Hema Malini

 

 

She is known till date as the Dream Girl of Indian Cinema and there is no one like her. From doing fun roles like Seeta Aur Geeta (1972) to doing meaty roles like Raziya Sultan (1983), Hema Malini had a career trajectory most actresses would envy. But what truly stands out, is her grace and beauty so beautifully intact even after all these years. Her appearance as the lead role opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Baghban (2003) is proof of her finesse. Even today, a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and philanthropist, Hema Malini is not just elegant but also very efficient in her work.
