Aamir Khan reviews Matka King, says he wanted to play Ratan Khatri; Vicky Kaushal adds Vijay Varma’s show to watchlist
Matka King continues to draw appreciation from across the film industry, with Aamir Khan and Vicky Kaushal recently sharing their reactions to the series on social media following its streaming release on Prime Video.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Aamir Khan Productions shared a note congratulating the team behind the show and expressing interest in the central character. The message read, “Congratulation to Nagraj, Sid, Vijay, and the entire team of Matka King. Ratan Khatri is a character I would have loved to play. I'm sure Vijay must have killed it. Will be watching it soon after Ek Din’s release. Hearing only great things about it. Congrats once again. / Love, a.”
Actor Vicky Kaushal also shared his response to the series on Instagram Stories, adding it to his watchlist while acknowledging filmmaker Nagraj Manjule’s involvement. He wrote, “Next up on my watchlist... from one of my fav directors! Looking forward... MATKA KING”
The latest reactions come shortly after filmmaker Karan Johar publicly praised the show as well. Sharing his thoughts on social media earlier, Johar wrote, “What a show!!!! The perfect BINGE!!!! Congratulations to the entire team of #matkaking..you can't miss it.”
Directed by Nagraj Manjule and created and written by Abhay Koranne, Matka King stars Vijay Varma in the lead role alongside Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, Siddharth Jadhav, Bhupendra Jadawat, and Gulshan Grover. Since its premiere on April 17, the series has been trending across platforms and continues to receive attention from both audiences and members of the film fraternity.
