Box Office: Baaghi 2 beats Ajay Devgn's Raid; becomes 2nd highest opening week grosser of 2018

The Ahmed Khan directed film Baaghi 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani released a week ago. After opening on a high note the business of the film that hit a total of 4125 screens worldwide (domestic 3500 + overseas 625) has seen good growth even on weekdays. Now at the close of its first week, Baaghi 2 has managed to beat the Ajay Devgn starrer Raid to emerge as the second highest opening week grosser of 2018.

Collecting Rs. 112.85 cr Baaghi 2 has managed to surpass the business of other releases like Raid that collected Rs. 63.05 cr, Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man that collected Rs. 62.87 cr, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that collected Rs. 45.94 cr, and Hichki that collected Rs. 26.10 cr. However, the business of the film does not manage to out beat the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmavaat that starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor which had raked in a massive Rs. 166.50 cr in its first week.

 

While currently, Baaghi 2 has managed to perform well and still continues to run enjoying the audience’s favour all that remains to be seen is whether the film manages to become one of the highest grossers of the year.
