Waheeda Rehman joins Irrfan Khan, Golshifteh Farahani in Jaisalmer

The legendary Waheeda Rehman will soon be seen in a Hindi film again. Last seen in 2009 in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6 Waheedaji now heads to Jaisalmer for the shooting of director Anup Singh's film. The film also stars Irrfan Khan and the controversial Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani.

 

Anup Singh's debut film Qissa in 2015 also featured Irrfan and was hugely acclaimed. His new project is called Mantra - Song of Scorpions. It's about a young woman singer deep in the desert of Rajasthan, who sings and heals people. Due to certain circumstances, when she realizes that her life has been poisoned by the man in her life, she then has to go on a kind of mystical journey to find a song that will heal her.

The Iranian actress, Golshifteh Farahani has been cast for the protagonist's role. Waheedaji appears in a brief but important role.

 

Waheeda Rehman will also be seen in Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2 where she plays a dancer after a very long time.
