Raju Khan to turn director with film based on singing talent hunt

Vishesh Films is one production house in Bollywood where the studio lights never go off. While the Bhatts are currently busy in post-production of their first release of 2006 Gangster, they are also fine-tuning the pre-production work of their upcoming films. Showbiz is the title of the next film coming out of their banner. The film is scheduled to go on floors next week. Continuing their tradition of introducing new talents in Bollywood, Showbiz will have newcomers Tushar and Mrinalini playing lead roles. While Mrinalini has played a small part as a bar dancer in an item song in Apaharan, this will be Tushars first screen appearance. Also this movie will mark the directorial debut of popular choreographer Raju Khan. Raju Khan is the son of the highly acclaimed choreographer Saroj Khan and has also won a National Award for his work in Lagaan. Interestingly Raju Khan went independent as a choreographer with Mukesh Bhatts Aashiqui. Since then he has choreographed around 1500 songs in numerous films. Showbiz is based on the theme of the various singing talent hunt contests that are making rounds of the small screen since the past couple of years. The movie tells the story of a young man played by Tushar who wins a singing talent contest. He instantly shoots to fame, but life also becomes tough. The first half deals with his rise to fame and how he begins to get negative publicity. In the second half, he decides to fight back and take revenge from his detractors. Pritam who is currently ruling high with the musical success of Gangster and Ankahee has composed the music of this film. Meanwhile the shooting for Vishesh Films other project Woh Lamhe is going on in full swing. The film based on the life story of Mahesh Bhatt and his relationship with actress Parveen Babi stars Shiny Ahuja and Kangna Ranaut playing the central characters.
