Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated action-adventure drama, currently referred to as SSMB29, is steadily turning into one of Indian cinema’s most talked-about projects. Composed by M. M. Keeravaani, sung by Shruti Haasan and Kaala Bhairava, and penned by Chaitanya Prasad, the track packs a punch. In her note, she reflected on the memorable experience of working with Keeravani, describing the atmosphere in the studio as warm and creatively energising. She recalled quietly listening to the composer at the keys, assuming he was beginning with his usual Vigneswara mantram, only to realise he was playing one of her father’s songs — a moment she described as unexpectedly emotional and personally meaningful. Shruti expressed gratitude for the kindness shown by Keeravani and the entire team and added that she is eager for listeners to experience the track.
‘Globetrotter’ follows the recent release of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s first look from the film, in which he appears as Kumbha — a character believed to have grey undertones. His intense avatar generated widespread discussion online, further boosting curiosity around Rajamouli’s vision for this massive project.
Adding to the excitement, industry reports indicate that the film’s official title may be announced by the end of this week. Speculation has been rife, with names like Globetrotter and Varanasi circulating across fan circles, though the team has yet to confirm any of them.
SSMB29 also marks Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ return to Indian cinema, her first since The Sky Is Pink in 2019. Pairing her with Mahesh Babu under Rajamouli’s direction has only heightened expectations from this globe-spanning action spectacle.
