Telugu actor Allu Sirish, who recently got engaged to his ladylove Nayanika, has sparked conversations with his bold fashion choice during the ceremony. Several pictures from the engagement surfaced on social media, showcasing a cozy family celebration steeped in Telugu traditions. Among the highlights was Allu Sirish’s white sherwani, accessorized with a diamond choker, which quickly caught the attention of fans and media alike.

Allu Sirish reacts to jewellery buzz
Days after his engagement, Allu Sirish addressed the social media chatter about the necklace. Sharing his amusement, he emphasized that chokers have a long history of being worn by men. He wrote: “Hahahaha. Our Telugu memers are too funny! Btw vaddanam is worn only by women but our Indian maharajas & Mughals wore chokers.”
He further added: “‘Chokers are only for women’ is a very western construct. It’s 2025 and high time we break free from such limiting beliefs and fully embrace our Indian style jewellery.”
Sirish also referenced the historical Khiraj-i-Alam, or Timur Ruby, one of the world’s most valuable pieces of jewellery, which was worn as a choker by emperors like Akbar the Great and Shah Jahan, and later by Maharaja Sher Singh. The East India Company later presented it as a gift to Queen Victoria in 1851.
A star-studded engagement ceremony
Allu Sirish and Nayanika got engaged on October 31, 2025, announcing the happy news on social media along with a series of beautiful pictures. The intimate ceremony was attended by close family and a few celebrities, including Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan with Upasana, and Varun Tej with Lavanya. Fans celebrated the event as a grand Allu-Konidela family affair.
