Konkona in 'Page 3'

Almost three months ago, this writer broke the news of Madhur Bhandarkar planning to turn producer with a project titled PAGE 3. Madhur had approached Kareena Kapoor to enact the role of a crusading journalist in the film. The actress had also heard the script and was eager to do the film. However, Kareena could not allot the dates the project demanded, so Madhur approached Aparna Sen's talented daughter Konkona Sen Sharma [she bagged the best actress award for MR. AND MRS. IYER], who heard the script narration on Sunday, September 28 and was bowled by the narrative. So, Konkona will now essay the central role in the film. To be produced by Madhur Bhandarkar and Bobby Pushkarna [son of producer Baldev Pushkarna], the film will roll in December this year. "PAGE 3 will be better than CHANDNI BAR," Madhur promises, "It's a much better script. Besides, with a powerhouse of talent like Konkona playing the protagonist, it should be a dual treat for the viewers."
