Readers may be aware that before getting his hands into the periodic thriller, Neeraj Pandey had announced, his directorial - the biopic on one of India’s most loved cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. But what many don’t know is that the script was initially offered to none other than Ileana D’Cruz for the role of leading lady. However, we hear the actress was awaiting a detailed narration of her role and refused to sign on the dotted line without the same. When she did finally get the details of her character, she decided to let the offer go as she found the role of the leading lady to be limited. This is how Ileana backed out from starring in the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

 

Going ahead, Neeraj who was keen on working with Ileana went on to offer Rustom where she played a character loosely inspired by Sylvia Nanavati from the 1959 KM Nanavati crime of passion case.

 

On the other hand, the role of Dhoni’s first love Priyanka Jha is being played by Disha Patani whilst the role of Sakshi Dhoni, the cricketer’s wife is being portrayed by Kiara Advani.
