Dhoom 3 is glossy and extravagant in parts. It is not spectacular. Unnecessary songs (nice ones though) spoil the plot. Those South Indian movies type action sequences prove that even Yashraj Films can’t escape the masala momentum. The motor cycle and car chase sequences are not high adrenalin unlike my expectations. Some action scenes and stunts are absolute bull crap. Race 2, Don 2 and Krrish 3 were better in terms of action. It is basically a normal Hindi film only shot in America.
And what is Amir Khan doing in this film with the rest of the jokers? Though he looked the part, he seemed disinterested in the movie and perhaps signed this film only for the money to invest in Satyamev Jayate. His performance resembles Hrithik’s in Koi Mil Gaya and Shah Rukh’s My Name is Khan.
Katrina Kaif is there just to add the sex element in the 5 scenes she got and all her dance steps are exactly the same as those from Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Uday Chopra not only looks ugly but it grossly irritating as well. Abhishek Bachchan is just ok.
Giving credit where it’s due it is still little better than a lot of recent films and watching Amir Khan after a year is a treat! That’s about it; otherwise the film is disappointing!
