Actress Yukti Kapoor believes that an artiste’s work should speak louder than their visibility in the media. In an industry where staying relevant often involves maintaining a constant public presence, the actress says she would rather be remembered for performances that connect with audiences than for frequently making headlines.

“I feel there is a lot of pressure today to stay relevant and constantly be seen. But for me, relevance should come from your work and the connection you build with the audience. I would rather be remembered for a performance that touched someone’s heart than for being in the news every other day,” Yukti shared.
The actress, known for playing Sub-Inspector Karishma Singh in Maddam Sir and Ragini Singh in Agniphera, also acknowledged how social media has changed the way artistes interact with audiences. While she recognises the importance of adapting to the evolving entertainment landscape, Yukti believes that online visibility cannot replace the effort and dedication required to build a career in acting. She added, “Social media has changed how people discover and connect with artistes, and adapting to that is important. However, no trend can replace the hard work that goes into acting. At the end of the day, your performance is what truly matters.”
Yukti has appeared in several television shows, including Siya Ke Ram, Balika Vadhu, Keh Doon Tumhein, Namah Lakshmi Narayan, Jhilmil Sitaaron Ka Aangan Hoga, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Her work across different shows has given her opportunities to explore varied characters and performances.
Speaking about navigating the competitive nature of the entertainment industry, the actress said she prefers to concentrate on her own progress instead of measuring her achievements against those of her contemporaries. She believes that every artiste has a distinct journey shaped by individual circumstances, opportunities and challenges. “Everyone has a different journey, different opportunities, and different struggles. I have learned to focus on my own growth rather than someone else’s milestones. You have to trust your timing and keep working towards becoming better at what you do,” she said.
For Yukti, professional growth also means remaining open to experimentation and embracing characters that challenge her as a performer. She believes that approaching every new opportunity with a willingness to learn is essential to evolving as an actor. “I never want to reach a point where I feel I have nothing left to learn. Every character and every experience teaches you something new. I want to keep challenging myself and discovering different sides of my abilities as an actor,” she stated.
Concluding her thoughts on success and longevity, Yukti emphasised that while the entertainment industry will continue to evolve, an actor’s commitment to their craft must remain consistent. “The industry will continue to change, but your commitment to your craft should remain constant. For me, success is about growing as an actor, staying honest with myself, and giving every opportunity my best. That is what makes this journey meaningful,” she mentioned.
With her focus firmly on performances and continuous improvement, Yukti Kapoor maintains that lasting relevance comes from the work an actor delivers and the connection they establish with their audience.
