The latest episode of Double Date with Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi featured sisters Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan, who opened up about an interesting childhood memory involving their brother Saif Ali Khan's marriage to Amrita Singh. During the candid conversation, the sisters revealed that they first came to know about Saif's wedding while they were attending school and not through their family.
Reflecting on the incident, Saba recalled that both she and Soha were still students when the news of Saif and Amrita's marriage surfaced. Since the wedding took place at the last minute, neither of them could be a part of the celebrations.
Speaking about the moment, Saba Ali Khan said, "He was married when we were in school." Agreeing with her sister, Soha Ali Khan added, "Yes, I was in school when he got married."
Saba further shared that the sudden media coverage surrounding the wedding prompted the school authorities to step in. According to her, the principal's office contacted them and instructed them not to discuss the reports with anyone until there was confirmation. Recalling the incident, she said, "We got a call from the principal's office saying, 'Aap log kisi ko kuch nahi batayenge,' because we don't know how real the news is because woh news mein aa chuka tha. And we were told not to say this to anyone."
During the conversation, Neha Dhupia asked the sisters whether they had attended Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's wedding. Responding to the question, Soha explained that the marriage happened on extremely short notice. Since both she and Saba were in school at the time, and because it was "a very last-minute affair," they could not be present for the ceremony.
The sisters' conversation offered a heartfelt look into a lesser-known chapter of the Pataudi family's life. Their memories highlighted how the wedding, which later became one of Bollywood's most talked-about marriages, was so sudden that even Saif Ali Khan's younger sisters first learnt about it through reports while they were at school.
