Sidharth Malhotra, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ekta Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar, Deepak Mishra and others attended Mumbai Comic Con 2026 on Saturday, May 9, as part of the promotions for their film, Vvan: Force Of The Forest. While it is common for films to be adapted from comic books, in a rare move, the makers launched a comic book, The Legend Of Vvan, after developing the film’s world. The comic was unveiled at the event. Tamannaah Bhatia got the maximum hoots and claps and she also helped raise laughs.
After taking the mic, Arunabh Kumar asked Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia to wave at the fans at the extreme corners. As one fan addressed Sidharth as ‘Sid paaji’, Arunabh joked, “Yes, we all love Sid paaji and Tamannaah didi as well!”
The whole arena burst out laughing while Tamannaah Bhatia also got amused. Ektaa R Kapoor remarked, “I don't think anyone is addressing her as Tamannaah didi! I am quite sure about it.” Arunabh clarified, “I am talking about those below 13.”
On a serious note, Arunabh said, “This is very special for me as I have looked up to one person since my college days, who made 20 shows in a year. It was my wish to meet her once and thank her for inspiring me. 4 years back, this person happened to call me literally out of nowhere. She told me, ‘I am your big fan and I cherish it always’. A big round of applause to Ektaa.”
Ektaa was touched by his words and she raised laughs as she clarified, “When Arunabh was small, I was also small!”
Arunabh continued, “Our film is not another horror comedy. This is a folklore, which Ektaa loved. It is actually inspired by a true story. She defines it as ‘a folk feature based on a creature’!”
Tamannaah Bhatia spoke next. She began by saying, “My journey with Comic Con started with this really amazing film called Baahubali.” The mention of the epic film led to hooting.
She continued, “We have already shot the film. But after reading the comic, I told them (the producers), ‘This scene (from the comic) should have been there in our movie’ (smiles).”
She further said, “I am so happy that Sid is doing this film because I think he is India's heartthrob. I cannot tell you the number of friends and friends’ nieces have called me, excited that I was working with Sid. Hence, I am so happy that he chose to do Vvan.”
Tamannaah Bhatia also praised the team of TVF, “Be it a long form or a comic book or a feature, they can pull off anything.”
Vvan: Force Of The Forest releases in cinemas on August 28.
