The film which sees Rani return as the no-nonsense crime fighter opened to a good response from the critics and audiences alike. In fact, despite competition from the previous releases, the business of Mardaani 2 managed to hold its own at the box office.

Collecting Rs. 18.15 cr, Mardaani 2 has become Rani Mukerji’s highest opening weekend grosser. In fact, Mardaani 2 has recorded better figures than Rani’s previous releases like Hichki that collected Rs. 15.35 cr and Mardaani that had collected Rs. 14.46 cr.
