TV actor Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak, 17, has grown up into a beautiful girl and she is all set to make her Bollywood debut soon. She will be seen opposite Taare Zameen Par actor Darsheel Safary in the upcoming film Quickie. The film deals with two teenage strangers who decide to have a one night stand in the city of Mumbai which never sleeps. Along with Palak Tiwari and Darsheel Safary, the film also stars Prabhjyot Singh, Bhavin Bhanushali, Caitlin Burke and Vinny Miranda. It is produced by Oddball Motion Pictures.

Talking about her debut, Palak said, “I am really excited for this film. This is my first film and there is a lot of pressure that comes along with it. Hope it will be a great journey like I expected it to be and people will appreciate this film. I really expect this film to do well because personally I love the story. ”

Writer-Director Pradip Atluri said, “Teen Comedy is an unexplored and often neglected genre in India. Imagine the stories that can come out of twisted hormones, questioning minds and physically transforming chaos. Most of our so called teenage films are played by 20 to 30 plus year old actors. The idea was to make a teenage film with real teenagers.”

Nepotism is a burning topic nowadays but the makers assure that Palak Tiwari is chosen for her acting talent and not because she is Shweta Tiwari’s daughter. Pradip Atluri explained, “Finding the lead actress became a difficult task. We auditioned hundreds of girls and even thought that maybe we should go with an older girl. But after four months of search we came across Palak Tiwari who blew us away with her acting skills, subtle expressions, and confidence in the audition. Also the fact that she is a teenager helps her to get into the character easily and aids her performance.”

Palak Tiwari is the daughter of Shweta and actor Raja Chaudhary. Both had a troubled marriage and Shweta Tiwari divorced him in 2007 after being together for nine years. Shen then married actor Abhinav Kohli in 2013. Three years ago, Shweta Tiwari had claimed in an interview that Palak earlier wanted to become pilot, hair stylist and fashion designer and she then finally settled for being an actor. She also said that she did injustice to her daughter by working round the clock and not giving enough time to her. She then started to spend more time with Palak Tiwari but that started annoying the latter as she used to wonder why her mother is interfering in her life suddenly!
