It’s that time of the year again, folks! The Walk of Mijwan, an annual fundraiser that features Manish Malhotra showcasing his creations for the NGO Mijwan Welfare Society founded by the late Kaifi Azm with a focus on the development of the girl child and women. The spectacular show held at JW Marriott in the city witnessed the feted designer’s Summer Couture 2018 collection featuring embroidery and chikankari work done by the Mijwan girls and interpreted into contemporary silhouettes by Manish in his signature style. An endeavour that has resulted in a better livelihood for women involved in chikankari, this year marks the 9th year since inception. Manish Malhotra pulled off a showstopper coup that certainly left us dazzled to bits for the annual Mijwan Fashion Show 2018 by roping in the exceptionally talented and insanely awesome looking duo, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor! Dressed to nines, the duo shared that amazing camaraderie, ear-to-ear grin as she sashayed down the ramp!
With an unstinted support from the film fraternity that has witnessed the starry presence of Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra; while Deepika made her debut it was Ranbir’s second stint as he had previously turned showstopper for the fashion show held in 2014. Here is a closer look at Deepika and Ranbir’s runway looks.
Deepika Padukone – Ranbir Kapoor
Deepika was a vision to behold in an intricately embroidered lehenga with choli. Bright lips, statement earrings and pulled back hair topped off her look. (Also Read: Deepika Padukone steps out to catch a flight, nails the cool girl athleisure look like a pro!)

Bollywood Hungama Style Take – Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor
Well, the duo had everyone hooting and cheering for them as they walked together. We loved their ensembles to the hilt!
The show also had two girls from Mijwan, Lalima Chauhan and Renu, who studied at the Kaifi Azmi School, learned embroidery at the centre and are now teaching there, relay their success stories. (Also Read: Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar come TOGETHER and we can’t keep calm)
On the professional front, Deepika Padukone regaled us with her role as Rani Padmavati in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus; Padmaavat that entered the INR 300 crore club creating history for a woman led film in Indian Cinema. Her project with her Piku co-star, Irrfan Khan – a biopic on Sapna Didi to be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj is on the backburner owing to Irrfan’s illness. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in the Raju Hirani directed Sanjay Dutt biopic, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt.
