In the wake of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, here’s looking back at Akshay’s best two-hero films (in order of release dates):

Khiladi (1992):

Directed by Abbas-Mustan, Khiladi stars Akshay Kumar alongside Deepak Tijori, Ayesha Jhulka, and Sabeeha. The film follows the story of four friends who find themselves entangled in a web of mystery and danger during a trip to Goa. The film was appreciated for its thrill and entertainment. This was also Akshay’s first hit. It’s title is synonymous with him even today.

Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994):

This is the second Akshay Kumar movie with the word ‘Khiladi’ in it. In this action-comedy directed by Sameer Malkan, Akshay plays the role of an honest cop who teams up with a reluctant actor, played by Saif Ali Khan, to solve a murder case. The film is known for its entertaining performances and catchy music.

Suhaag (1994):

Directed by Kuku Kohli, Suhaag features Akshay Kumar alongside Ajay Devgn. The film is an action-packed drama about two friends who are mistaken for thieves and get embroiled in a web of deceit and betrayal. The film is also known for its thrilling climax and the song ‘Gore Gore Mukhde Pe Kala Kala Chashma’.

Mohra (1994):

Directed by Rajiv Rai, Mohra features Akshay Kumar alongside Suniel Shetty and Raveena Tandon. The film is an action-packed thriller about two honest police officers, who join forces to bring down a powerful criminal mastermind. This remains one of Akshay’s iconic films. It’s song ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast’ became a rage and is still remembered.

Garam Masala (2005):

Directed by Priyadarshan, Garam Masala stars Akshay Kumar alongside John Abraham. The film is a rib-tickling comedy about two photographers who live together and fall in love with the same woman, leading to hilarious misunderstandings and chaos. This is yet another Akshay and Priyadarshan entertainer, which also starred Paresh Rawal.
