EXCLUSIVE: Alia Bhatt on working with Ranbir Kapoor and Kesariya becoming hit : Bollywood News

Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor has managed to do very well at the box office, overcoming all the negativities and challenges that came its way. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Alia talked about how important it for her was that the film works at the box office considering people were about to see her and Ranbir together for the first time onscreen.

“Well, I think the film was much bigger than just Ranbir and me,” Alia said to which Ayan added, “Still of course, it's nice when you have your first film together as a [couple]” While the film is likely to see further growth in collections, the film’s chartbuster song ‘Kesariya’ also made quite a noise when its official audio teaser was dropped by the team.

“Of course. But I kind of felt that when ‘Kesariya’ dropped, and people went mad over that,” Alia said. “Ayan and I discussed it also, I said ‘Wow, it's so special that Ranbir and I have this blockbuster song. It's not a big song, it's a blockbuster song. And we feel so grateful to Pritam Da and to Ayan and the fact that this actually happened for us.”

She continued, “And of course, Ranbir has been working in the movies far longer than I have and he's had some like, outstanding songs, especially with Ayan and Pritam da. But this was my first sort of collaboration with all three of them. And music is, kind of, stands the test of time eventually. So yeah, it was exciting. but we kind of got that taste of like love with ‘Kesariya.’”

Meanwhile, Brahmastra, which is co-penned by Hussain Dalal and Ayan Mukerji, also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles and saw Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna and Dimple Kapadia in cameo roles. The action-adventure fantasy film made its theatrical release on September 9 of this year exclusively in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
