The trailer of Daayra has received reactions from several Bollywood celebrities, with actors and filmmakers taking to social media to share their thoughts on Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime thriller. The film, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles, has generated interest following the launch of its trailer.
Alia Bhatt, who previously collaborated with Meghna Gulzar on Raazi, shared the trailer on social media and wrote, “THIS cast + my favourite director… say no more.” The actor’s reaction highlighted her association with the filmmaker and her interest in the upcoming project.
Vicky Kaushal, who worked with Meghna in Sam Bahadur, also shared his response to the trailer. Praising the filmmaker’s approach to the story, he wrote, “Only you @meghnagulzar, have the strength and sensitivity to explore a world of blurred lines like that of #Daayra. Filmmaker Karan Johar also expressed his excitement about the combination of talent in the film. Reacting to the trailer, he wrote, “So many favourites in one film!” He further praised Meghna Gulzar’s creative vision by referring to it as “genius at play” and extended his best wishes to the team.
Soha Ali Khan also shared her reaction to the trailer, writing, “Get your opinions ready -@meghnagulzar is back and this one looks engaging, thrilling and polarising!! Cannot wait ...” Kareena Kapoor Khan’s sister Karisma Kapoor also joined the conversation, sharing firecracker emojis while cheering for the film.
Daayra is a crime thriller centred on two police officers who follow contrasting ideologies of law and order. As they investigate a crime, their differing perspectives bring them face-to-face with questions surrounding truth, justice and the thin line between the two.
The film is produced by Junglee Pictures and Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios and distributed by Pen Marudhar. Daayra is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 18, 2026.
