BTS’ sixth concept photos from ‘BE’ features SUGA as he imparts wisdom on seeing your faithful reflection

In the next few weeks, the hype is going to be as global superstars BTS are dropping their next studio album, 'BE (Deluxe Edition)'. Each member has participated in the album and it is a personal reflection of them. In the month of October, they began to drop 'BE' related content including a group concept photo, special handwritten postcards for the fans (called ARMY), two concept videos (mirror and reflection). Now, Big Hit Entertainment is releasing concept photos curated by BTS members as they show the fans how they perceive themselves. Each room is a reflection of the member and exudes their vibe. After the members V, Jimin, RM, Jungkook and Jin, the next member to discuss his room is SUGA.

He begins the introduction of the room and explains the idea behind curating his room. "Hello, welcome to Suga's room. I am the curator, Suga. Blue is an important color to me, so the overall theme of the room is the color blue. Different hues of blue were used in this room because the coolness of the perfect blend of white and blue imparts a charm unsurpassed by a room adorned purely in a while. There's a soft pastel blue, a weighty velvety blue, and a deep blue like Jeju seas. I wonder what these blues will mean to you?" Suga says.

Speaking of his velvet outfit, he adds, "My outfit is in the blue tone of the room, in my own stylistic interpretation."

He, then, says, "What objects in this room do you think best represent me? The metal spheres on the floor, the chain around my neck, a pair of slippers that I stepped into without thinking? No, the highlight of this room is the mirror. A mirror is a special object. It shows a reflection of you, letting you know that you indeed exist in here and now. All the members took part in the making of our album 'BE' in order to make it a true and faithful reflection of who we are, and that makes me all the more look forward to this album."

The videos that were unveiled a few days ago talked about the concepts of mirror and reflection. If anyone remembers, the Map Of The Soul ON:E online concert teasers, in fact, had different mirrors highlighting the fact that mirrors reflect our true selves, it does not hide anything. Suga's room's aesthetic is symbolically quite deep. Seated on a blue couch in a vibrant blue outfit, he is stepping on a mirror which is also the focal point. The color blue is often said to be a symbol of serenity, wisdom, calmness, stability. The different dues of blue symbolize Suga's version of comfort and reliability. Stepping on a mirror, he is seeing his reflection which you also noticed in the online concert teaser. It is about his perspective and how he sees himself.

While the world sees them as global superstars, BTS members are grounded in every way possible. Reflecting on himself is an important part of Suga's life. The mirrors have often been seen in his videos especially 'Interlude: Shadow' where the mirrors were cracked. It seems to be a callback to 'Burn It' track from his 'D-2' where says "I see the ashes falling out your window / There's someone in the mirror that you don't know / And everything was all wrong / So burn it till it's all gone." It has taken years for him to come to the terms with his reflection. But, now, he embraces his reflection and accepted who he is. Atleast, that's what we get from his voice notes and the idea behind it.

The new album arrives on the heels of their record-breaking single 'Dynamite' which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three non-consecutive weeks. BTS will perform 'Life Goes On' for the first time at the 2020 American Music Awards on November 22 after 'BE (Deluxe Version)' release on November 20.
