#2022Recap: 20 most EMBARRASSING scenes and dialogues in Bollywood films this year

en Bollywood News #2022Recap: 20 most EMBARRASSING scenes and dialogues in Bollywood films this year

Every year, we come across films that make us cringe from start to finish or have particular sequences or dialogues that make us want to bury our heads in shame. Bollywood Hungama, in this special feature, collates a list of 20 such scenes and one-liners in Hindi films in 2022 that we felt were highly embarrassing.

#2022Recap: 20 most EMBARRASSING scenes and dialogues in Bollywood films this year

1. Radhe Shyam

The film had a promising first half but went downhill in the second half. The climax scene, set on a sinking ship, failed to entice and it was a time when viewers were just waiting for the film to get over.

2. Bachchhan Paandey

The entry scene of the hero is supposed to induce awe. The opposite happened, however, in Bachchhan Paandey. Viewers were put off by the lead character who kills people for fun. The entry sequence continued in the song 'Maar Khayegaa' and it was further repulsive. No wonder audiences didn’t feel any empathy for Mr Paandey and it was a chief reason why the film didn’t work.

3. Runway 34

Its first half was one of the best of the year. The second half was very disappointing. The climax scene was intended to be clap worthy but the audience just sat through it without feeling any impact.

4. Heropanti 2

The more the film progresses, the more it became torture. The climax was unbearable.

5. Jayeshbhai Jordaar

Writer-director Divyang Thakkar attempted to do a Rajkumar Hirani with the ‘pappi’ dialogue. Though it was well-intentioned, it didn’t work with viewers and many of them cringed during this scene.

6 Dhaakad

The film’s biggest shortcoming is that the director didn’t explain things to the audience. The twist in the tale in the climax is unexpected but viewers never find out the reason behind it. In fact, it’s shocking that something of this sort even got approved!

7. Rashtra Kavach Om

The Baaghi-style climax was unimpressive and it had so many double crossings that audiences got tired by the time the Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer ended.

8. Khuda Haafuiz Chapter 2 - Agni Pariksha

After a decent first half, the film slips in the second half due to predictable sequences. Also, the action is extremely gruesome and put off even the male frontbenchers, who usually have a taste for such films. The shot where a baddie bites off a piece of flesh from Vidyut Jammwal’s hand was forced and made audiences feel pukish.

9. Shamshera

The climax was outdated in this film and the shot where Vaani Kapoor is supposedly with her baby became a big joke on the internet after netizens noticed that she is simply holding a piece of cloth instead of a child.

10. Laal Singh Chaddha

Aamir Khan is known as a perfectionist. Hence, viewers were shocked to see him overact (and how) in Laal Singh Chaddha. Thankfully, as his character aged, his acting got better.

11. Raksha Bandhan

The intention here was to show that the sisters are rowdy due to which the brother feels harrowed. But the makers crossed limits by depicting the sisters fighting over a samosa. It made for a nauseating experience.

12. Liger

The film went wrong from the very beginning. But in the end, Liger (Vijay Deverakonda) is shown fighting Mark Anderson (Mike Tyson), forgetting that he has a championship to win. And funnily, the championship venue begins streaming Liger’s fight with Mark. What happened to the tournament is forgotten as the film ends after this much-talked-about and disappointing sequence.

13. Brahmastra

Dialogue writer Hussain Dalal’s intention here was to simplify the dialogues to make them more mainstream and simple. In the process, he wrote lines like ‘Light woh roshni hai…’. No wonder, it got ridiculed.

14. Cuttputlli

The film was going fine till the pre-climax. But the hurried finale was a downer. Also, the way the mysterious villain suddenly starts sharing his back story without even being asked took away all the fun.

15. Code Name Tiranga

This scene in the Parineeti Chopra-starrer sounded interesting on paper but at the level of execution, it went downhill. Audiences were bewildered that when she was able to get such easy access to the terrorist’s house, why did this spy character, 30 before in the film, make an elaborate plan for months and even get married to someone just to kill the same terrorist?

16. Ram Setu

Ram Setu’s second half defies logic. The lead character and his aides discover aspects related to Ramayana which for some reason were undiscovered for 7000 years though they were there and all out in the open.

17. Double XL

Zaheer Iqbal’s takiya kalam, ‘Zu Za Zo’ irritated the audience. It was common to hear ‘tch tch’ in cinemas whenever he uttered this sad dialogue.

18. Phone Bhoot

The climax of this film could have been so much fun. Instead, it was unimaginative and anything but funny.

19. Salaam Venky

Aamir Khan was supposed to elevate the impact in this film. But his character was puzzling and moviegoers failed to understand what exactly was he playing and what was the relevance of his character.

20. Cirkus

Rohit Shetty assembled all the characters of the film in the climax. Viewers expected loads of helter-skelter running, fights etc in the name of comedy. Instead, Rohit wasted their potential and ended his film on a sad and ‘thanda’ note.
