Just yesterday as we celebrated the start of a New Year after the festival of lights. We also saw the release of the much talked about and highly anticipated Salman Khan - Sonam Kapoor starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. While the film that is directed by Sooraj Barjatiya, was touted to be one of this year's biggest hits, it did open on a high note. In fact the film witnessed unprecedented advanced booking by the audiences, a trend that is seldom seen.
However, taking a closer look at the film's success, we compare the Opening Day collections of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo to that of Salman Khan's previous releases. Not surprisingly, PRDP has claimed the title of being Salman Khan's Highest Opening Day grosser collecting Rs. 40.35 crores. In fact the film surpassed the actor's previous releases like Ek Tha Tiger that collected Rs. 32.93 crores, Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 27.25 crores and Kick that collected Rs. 26.40 crores.
With the film going strong all eyes are now on the overall weekend collections.
