YUN HOTA TOH KYA HOTA ............. Now here is what i would call an ideal family film. This is one of the films that has everything that one could always want to get from a film : * a story concernrd with the present years events * a powerful perfomance by almost the whole starcast. * soulful music ( only one song though ) * simple and understandable story. This film had a tremendous potential for the oscars , but alas.......... The film has a very nice story line concerning 4 parallel stories . out of all the stories , two among them standout namely, the KONKONA-JIMMY story and the PARES-RATNA story, because it delivers a power packed perfomance by each actor. Paresh rawal has been able to bring out that typical Gujarati accent while the scenes between konkona and her mother in law has been outstanding. Every now and then does a film come that is truly a memorable film and this is just like those.

This is a pretty good film. Naseerudin Shah takes a very fresh approach in direction. However, whilst the Konkona-Jimmy story & the Paresh-Ratna story are very interesting & are brilliantly handled, the other two stories are extremely boring! Konkona & her on-screen mother-in-law gave brilliant performances. Loved Paresh Rawal! Jimmy was lovable. Ratna,Irrfan & Ayesha were pretty good. Loved Suhasini Mulay's look! How does she manage to look so amazing at her age?Sameer Sheikh was hot! Loved the way the plane crash was handled, especially from Irrfan's angle, but I was a little bit disapointed with the ending. They should have at leat shown Jimmy turning around and seeing Konkona.
