After a foot injury, Bombay-based stage actress Madhu (Sonia Sahani) is unable to perform and lives in a rental flat along with Rajni (Shahida). Unable to even pay rent to Munim Hazarimal (V. Gopal), they sub-let a room to a male named Jaggi (Dev Kumar). Both she and Jaggi are attracted to each other and fall in love, and he gifts her a necklace, while Rajni falls in love with wealthy Kailash (Dev Dutt), the son of Dinanath (Murad), Madhu's former employer. The lives of both women will be shattered when Kailash will refuse to marry an expectant Rajni, and Madhu will find out that Jaggi has spent half his life behind bars.
