Khatra’s Review Of Kaminey:
Finally I got a chance to write a review!!
Story: Well I’m not going to bother stating the story because pretty much everyone knows it! It was pretty new and quite exciting for me! But before watching the film or even a 5-8 minutes into the film you will probably think, “Okay it’s the same old story of 2 twin brothers, 1 is good the other isn’t...blah blah blah†You got most of it right, Just take out the “Same old†part! The way it’s been presented and written is just fantastic!
Music:
The music was top notch. Every single song had an impact of it’s own in the film!
Fatak:This song was so cute. They way Shahid danced was adorable, and I loved his “Fatak†move hehe...Before the movie released I didn’t like it as much as I liked the other songs in the film! But I guess some songs make an impact after viewing the film, and this was definitely one of them! :D
Dhan Te Na:If it’s one song in the film that rocked the most, then it’s got to be this one. I absolutely loved it! I even loved it before I watched the film, but now I’m just gaga over it :P But what made the song extremely likeable for me was the picturisation! Shahid just completely rocked my socks with the way he was dancing! :thud:
Raat Ke Dhai Baje:Loved it! The choreography was real cute! Is it true Priyanka choreographed it? :hmm:
Kaminey:Really well placed in the film! At first when I heard it, I found it to be funny because the word “kaminey†was in it :P But then later I read the translation of the song and felt it was actually pretty meaningful and then when I saw it I just loved it
Pehli Baar Mohabbat: I was sort of annoyed that this was placed in the end credits because as soon as the film finishes my sisters just run out of the theatre :P I don’t know why but they do, so I didn’t get a chance to actually watch it ïŒ But the song itself is very beautiful! It was my favourite song from the album no doubt! :D
Performances:
Every single performance is praise worthy. From the main actors to the people in the background  :P Okay I didn’t really pay much attention to them but still :P
Shahid Kapoor: Seriously I love this guy. Along with being so damn good looking and cute he’s a wonderful actor as well! Before he would be considered a “good actor†but after watching Kaminey it would be an insult to call him a “good†actor. He should officially be called a “great†actor :D The way he portrayed both of the characters; Charlie and Guddu was really amazing! A lot of actors have done double roles but haven’t really done so great. They look like they’re the same person throughout the film/you don’t really see the difference between the 2 different characters who apparently just “look-alikeâ€. With Shahid, that just wasn’t the case! Definitely an award worthy performance from Mr. Shahid Kapoor! :D Award shows are really biased, so I don’t expect him to win an award :shaz:
Priyanka Chopra:This girl has really gone from strength to strength! Everyone loved her acting in Fashion, but in Kaminey she’s just something else. She was soo perfect as the “girl madly in loveâ€. I can’t really comment on her playing a Marathi girl because I don’t really know how they act/talk. But everyone said she acted great as a Marathi girl so I’m guessing she did. Whatever she did was great! :D
Amol Gupte: I’m guessing this was his debut film; acting wise and he really acted extremely well as “Bhope Bhauâ€. He was quite funny as well. Loved his facial expressions
Chandan Roy Sanyal(Mikhail): Tope Bhau  I loved him in the film. I hear this is also his debut film. Pretty pretty good for a newcomer! He was great in Dhan Te Na.
Those were the characters that made a huge impact on me but the rest of the cast also deserve a special mention; Lele, Lobo, Tashi, Cajetan, Shumon, Mujeeb, Corrupted Cops, and the lil kid who bothered Bhope Bhau :P
Overall: I really recommend everyone to watch it. It's a great watch with great performances, great direction, great music, and a great story to tell! Give it a chance, It's definitely worth it! ;)
