I think it's too much hyped...100 crores bla bla... but the net business should be disaster for producers.. because the movie doesn't have what it takes be a good movie... Same repetitive Akshay, I was expecting him to search better roles or do comedy of priyadarshan only...

A huge Bollywood entertaining producer (Sajid Nadiadwala) houses an exploding lead cast who have given several hits in the past (Akshay Kumar & Kareena Kapoor who have done Ajnabee (hit), Talaash (flop), Dosti (hit), Aitraaz (hit), Bewafaa (hit), and Tashan (flop)), and is handed on a silver plattter a smashing soundtrack along with an local such as Hollywood and Los Angeles City and of course, three super hit Hollywood actors. When all this comes together and when you, as a producer pump in so many crores of rupees into the production of one film --> the audience expects big. And when I say big, I mean it expects a fine story layered with action, drama, comedy, naach, gaana... overall a bollywood masala entertainer (especially if that is what you claim your movie to be). However, Kambakkht Ishq destructively fails to live up to any of such standards. Let's break this down: The first half, the movie takes a springing start with bucket loads of comedy. Hilarious jokes along with hilarious situations and hilarious actors such as Akshay Kumar and Javed Jaffery. Sure many of the jokes were vulgar and crude, but nonetheless, the first half was nothing less than a laugh riot. I do however wish that the producers had been little more selfless and told the audience beforehand of this kind of content. Another annoyance with the first half was that not a lot of "story" was actually uncovered in this time period. Now the second half of the movie which marked "D-Day" for this film. It was sooooooooooooo slow and boring. I mean, its one thing that you don't have a great story and really your movies only about naach gaana, nonsensical (yet fun) action scenes, and comedic scenes. But then don't focus on the story and make the film slow as hell. The second half had only 4 good moments (notice I said moments, meaning they lasted all but a minute or two): Sylvester Stallone's appearance on stage, when he fights those bad guys, the Boman Irani scene, and when they showed everyone else from Hollywood. But the "Kyon" song and the "Bebo" song, although good songs, dragged and stretched the film to unwanted lengths. And the scene where Kareena Kapoor gets high and Akshay Kumar feels bad was the rock bottom. There was like a 45 second usage of Brandon Routh, and Denise Richards was incredibly boring. Now that so much ill has been spoken, I must tell some good about the movie. Stunning locales, great cinematography (the underwater scene was beautifully shot), mind-blowing action scenes where Akshay Kumar was pulling off charismatic stunts in various scenarios, and the excellent music by RDB, Anu Malik, and Salim-Sulaiman (especially Om Mangalam). Sylvestor Stallone and Akshay Kumar Stuntman Awards scene was just amazing, and Stallone's fighting off the bad guys was full-on entertainment (btw, anyone notice how he ripped of the traffic sign like Sunny Deol ripped off the pump in Gadar). The comedy (whenever it came) was just great, especially by Javed Jaffery. I liked the creativity in the sets put up for Akshay Kumar's stunt scenes and the constumes were also stunning except for Akshay Kumar's overly small jacket in the song Lakh Lakh. Akshay Kumar did a fine job and so did Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora. And I save one last grievance for the end of my review: Kareena Kapoor. Anyone who saw Khushi starring her opposite Fardeen Khan might remember how they kept whining (literally whining with no words coming out of their mouths) at each other. She was highly annoying in that and the same goes for this overacted performance. Come to think of it, the crux of this story is very similar to that of Khushi's.

First things first. I am NOT in support of any particular actor or community. This movie is a soft pornographic movie in name of Hindi Cinema. And the very reason, why it has managed to earn so much money. if Mr Taran Adarsh thinks this is good cinema, I am shocked. Mr Taran, i have been reading your articles for past 10 years or so even before this website was started and I am shocked that you have called KI good cinema. Do you honestly think that this movie can be watched with one's mother or daughter or sister? Do you honestly think Akshay Kumar farting on Amrita Arora's face is funny? Do you honestly acknowledge that, Denise Richards telling Akshay Kumar to make golden babies is a scene worth enjoying?? I am a open minded person and a lover of world cinema irrespective of languages. I tried very hard to enjoy KI but all I could do is feel shocked that how you gave this movie a good review and people are actually spending money to watch this extremely vulgar and poorly directed movie!

This was the worst movie I have seen in a while.. putting aside the concept of brainless comedies (some movies coming from this Genre have been great entertainers), this movie was simply badly made!!

It was just over acting throughout the entire 148 mins. Akshay was good at some places, but he does not get much scope to deliver. Kareena looks hot and that is all she is pathetic for the acting part. The language of the movie is too strong and vulgar and I don't think it can be categorized as UA. At some places I thought its a remake of Salaam Namaste which is a much better movie than Kambakkht Ishq.
