after very long time we have seen a very strong story telling movie,raj kumar santoshi came up with very strong story subject, avery bold film and very strong direction a serious movie with very good perfomances , a must see ,must see movie, no doubt about it.

Rks – Ajay devgan has always been a great combo giving films with a message . “ Halla Bol “ adds another film to their list . Halla Bol doesnot means to attack it means to fight against injustices that’s the message of the movie . Movie is a story of Samir khan who from a normal person became a big star but in that lost his conscience until one day he sees a murder and decides to fight for it . its basically based on Jesssica lal case but is mixed up nicely with the film industry . First half is a bit slow to start and one do feel bored at some times until it goes in flashback and from then on film goes on brilliantly . there are some usual clichés and digs at the film industry but that’s fun to see . Second half is superb with lot of powerful dialogues and punches . in one word superb . background music adds to the effect of the movie . Ajay devgan acts very well overall though he looks a bit out of place when has to portray the starry behaviour but that’ only for some 5-6 scenes overall he is very good .Vidya balan don’t have much to do but is good in her role .Pankaj kapoor is superb in a a role made for him . just look for the scene where they are firing bullets on him and he just scares them with their eyes simply awesome . Darshan Jhariwala is strictly ok as a minister Story and screenplay are by Rks and barring the first 25 mins its pretty good . Editing from steven bernard is perfect and not once film looks getting stretch .Background music barring at places where nto needed ( like when they are taking Ajay devgan to hospital ) is powerful . Rks is back as a director after disappointing Family and glad to see it . Rating– 3.75/5

Well. first of all I think Raj Kumar Santoshican make better film than Hlla Bol. I mean overall the movie was kind of dissapointing. It has nothing new in it. It's about the same old cliche about how 1 man can make a difference. We've seen that in hundreds of movies like Nayak, Apaharan(In which Ajay Devgan also starred)ect.

If you go for the movie, do not think you are going for a Rajkumar Santoshi movie, and you may like…  

If you go for the movie, do not think you are going for a Rajkumar Santoshi movie, and you may like it. Well, in the start it seemed that Rajkumar Santoshi is being too influenced by others, by Madhur Bhandarkar and other directors of commercial art movies. But Santoshi is a master of his own brand and should not try hand at such things. Also, the cast he has taken cannot be used to do those experiments. After sometime, when Pankaj Kapoor enters, movie gets better, but the Santoshi-pace is hardly ever found in the movie. Even the script is not that good. The 'Khakee' touch is all gone. 'Khakee' to me, is a movie which you enjoy even when you do not know the story of the movie. And when you come to know the story in the mid of the movie, there is something you can feel. But 'Halla Bol' hardly has any touch of that greatness. Though, there are scenes that are pretty good, but most of them are already aired in promos. Pankaj Kapoor is the only image you take home with you. Ajay Devgan is just fine and Vidya Balan has performed well in the few places she could. Darshan Zariwala is good. Anjan Srivastava and Sulabha Arya have played their small roles fine, too. Music is not very good, except for one song, 'Jab tak hai dum'. The lines of late Dushyant Kumar in the song have been provided with all the zeal they require to reach the hearts of viewers, but the moment is short lived. Actually the direction and acting are not bad but the slow speed and old-fashioned dialogues at some points make it weak and boring. And again, the fact hits harder when you go to the movie knwing it's a Rajkumar Santoshi film. The end too is not great and the movie almost fails to deliver its message strongly. In short, do not go to the movie for Rajkumar Santoshi. But if you still need a reason, Pankaj Kapoor is the person to look forward to.

I hav seen d movie 2day nd i think dat it was pretty gud... Pankaj kapur has done an xcellent job... The film seems 2 be very near 2 reality nd songs do match d mood of film. Ajay has also done a gud job. But i think dat movie was much targeted 2 d "KHANS" of bollywood, mainly SRK...

Rajkumar Santoshi really disappointed me when i watch this movie.Whst happen with this director i cant undersatnd???Is he the same director who has given us "Ghayal,Damini,Ghatak,Bhagat Singh" After Ghatak his only film which i remeber is "Pukar".That was a true Santoshi Caetogory movie. But this one was really disappointed.About acting part Ajay is already a good actor, no need to write anything for Pankaj Kapoor(he has his own class which cant be compared and shared with other actor in bollywood).Its a wakeup call for santoshi to improve his movie and his script
