3 Good

Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan) is a rich businessman who owns a cellular phone company. Kalpana (Asin) is a model who brags to her friends and peers that she is the love interest of Sanjay, though in reality she doesn’t even know the man. When Sanjay comes to know about this anonymous admirer of his, he decides to dispel her delusions. But on his way he sees a beautiful woman helping the handicapped kids cross the road. Instantly, Sanjay falls for her. Later, he comes to know that she is Kalpana, the same model who boasted of being his girlfriend. Sanjay gets introduced to Kalpana but doesn’t disclose his real identity. Love blossoms between the two. After a shocking accident, Sanjay loses his memory. He gets only flashbacks of what really happened and his short memory makes it difficult to remember things he did just minutes back. During his search for some answers, a medical student (Jiah Khan) helps him. Okay, first of all, clearing many doubts that the people have in their mind. This is the remake of the Tamil version of "Ghajini" & the same makers of "Ghajini" have remade it & it's a pure remake, including every second of the Tamil version. Yes, it is copied from Memento, partially. The character of the lead hero is totally a rip off from Memento. And now we talk about "Ghajini", as which one is better. The remake or the original! It's a totally same movie, just with some minor technical changes (they made it better in this Hindi version, which is obvious) & the last 15 minutes (although the theme is same in the climax as well). Now if you have already watched the Tamil (or the Telugu) version of "Ghajini", then you are going to enjoy the movie to the least. And the reason is, as mentioned above, it's a second to second remake of the movie. Every single second is similar to the south version of the movie. And if you are the first timer, then you will enjoy it. Definitely the question takes place in our mind after watching this movie, & i.e. why did Aamir, the perfectionist, signed this sort of a movie? Well, the answer is only with Aamir itself. There is nothing wrong, but why a remake & also copied material from Hollywood? Maybe because he'd like to show his body skills with this movie! Of course Aamir has made a perfect body with some fantastic cuts throughout his whole physique. The performance by Aamir is shockingly & surprisingly just okay. In fact, some of the scenes were better executed by Surya (actor in lead in the south version of the movie). The performance by Asin is good & totally the same way as she did in the south version. She is confident & looks beautiful all through the movie. Jiah Khan was fine & she looked good. The direction is the same & it's okay. The music of the movie is fine. A.R. Rehman does makes a good impression with songs like Guzarish & Kaise Mujhe. But the background music was not as expected & should have been better. The action is scenes are not extra-ordinary, they are least special but it does manages to create the excitement within the audiences' mind & heart. So "Ghajini" is unlike other Aamir movies, disappoints in a way. But the movie has everything, that an entertaining movie should have & so it does succeeds. But if you have already watched the south version of the movie, then there's nothing at all for you. Not as expected, still fine.
