seriously now a days Bollywood film industry is completely busy on making sequel or copying story from another film industry.After watching the teaser of the movie and read article that Mohit Suri( director of the movie) has completely neglected about any similarity between ek villain and i saw the devil, i went to see the movie with some expectations of freshness. From the first ten minute itself i realized that it is going on the same path on which i saw the devil went.Even though the story writer has made slightly changes you can completely notice the similarity between the two films like a psycho killer killing killing women,a person searching his wife's murderer for revenge,even though he found him,instead of killing he beat him and leave him every time for the next turn etc. The only thing which i like is music of the film.the songs are really melodious and good to watch. So for those who have not seen I saw the devil, give it a try you won't disappoint and those who have seen i saw the devil (like me) you can wait for DVD's to come out.

After watching the trailer, I was curious to witness something new but disappointed. I was expecting some thrill and suspense, which are not in film at all. Songs were indicating that there should be deep romance which is also not there, some light moments are there only. There is not a single question which answer you wanted to know. Everything is clear, who is doing and why? Director thinks that there is no law and order in town like Mumbai. Only a confused Police Inspector is enough to wait and watch and even let go, to a psycho serial killer!!!? Incidents happen in high profile hospital, on road but Police or media does not exist at all. Whatever director though that happens without any logic. You wont feel sympathy to any of the characters. A person can easily board in a train but he prefers to walk then run while holding the window bar and convincing his girl friend, just for making the shot more appealing but it comes as ridiculous. Performance wise Ritesh Deshmukh is very good. Sidhdharth Malhotra looks confused, emoting in not so simple as making tattoo. Shardha Kapoor looks pretty and acted fine as per the need of character. Music by Mithoon and Ankit Tiwari is very good but it could have been more impactful if songs came in a tight situation but they are stuffed only because tracks are good.

Filmmaker Mohit Suri's latest film Ek Villain is inspired by the South Korean revenge film I Saw the Devil. Although, it is quite evident that the action is toned down for the Indian audience. The film has a lot of interesting portions but the plot is full of loopholes. Mohit Suri has managed one big thing and that's getting some of the best performances out of all the three actors. Mohit makes EK VILLAIN an enthralling experience, no two opinions on that. Although a number of movies have focused on serial killers, the talented raconteur along with screenplay writer Tushar Hiranandani makes sure they pack several remarkable twists that transcend the genre, making it a novel experience for the spectator. The undercurrent of tension and the violent crimes are intertwined skillfully with the affectionate moments between the lovers and the emotional turmoil that the protagonist goes through. The writing, in short, keeps you captivated right through the finale, which, again, is not of the run of the mill variety.On the whole, EK VILLAIN is a stylish, spellbinding and terrifying edge-of-the-seat thriller. It's a step forward in this genre, without doubt. A sure-shot winner! Inspired largely by Korean filmmaker Kim Jee-Woon's I Saw the Devil (2010), Mohit Suri's romantic thriller is Bollywoodised for the desi market. While the Korean film relied on too much blood and gore, Suri's film mixes romance and violence in equal measure, letting the plot meander a bit but allowing for some sharp twists as well You cannot fault the scale of Ek Villain or berate its lead star cast. But you wish you could celebrate this thriller like you did Suri's last movie outing Aashiqui 2. This one lacks soul. Ek Villain folds out quite contrary to its simplistic name. Told with an even pitch, the film isn't anything like the run-in-the-mill stories we are subjected to watch every week. This is sheer compelling commercial cinema that has a lucid story and its heart in the right place, without indulging in anything stoop! Mohit Suri doesn't depend on 'signpost' character​s; surprising and gratifying you in equal measures​. I don't even care if this film is a rip off of some obscure Korean flick, this is a smashingly effective one! The film's riveting rhythm, breathtaking performances ​especially from​ Sidharth and Riteish and the fantastic writing makes ​for a ​​magnificent​, racy and​ ​emotional ​watch. His movies are about never about the story but the soothing sound tracks and little-known actors and plots that are referenced from Hollywood. 'Ek Villain' is all that, and more. It's a classic case of bad casting. While Riteish Deshmukh makes an earnest effort, Mohit Suri fails to guide his other actors. If you thought 'Humshakals' was overloaded with bad jokes, then you are wrong. Mohit gives Sajid Khan a good fight with 'Ek Villain'. The humour here is unintentional, of course!

Watching the trailer, I had thought this movie would have some interesting twists, suspense and thrill. Like there would be confusion about the identity of the villain and the revelation would be mind blowing. All other people who were there in the houseful theater with me today, had thought the same. We all were severely disappointed. We were shown the same old, plain revenge drama that Bollywood has been making since it has been making movies. Siddharth Malhotra (who plays Guru) is shown to be a ferocious contract-killer. But he looks like he has landed straight from ramp from a fashion show in Paris and he speaks like he has completed his MBA from Harvard Business School. Shraddha Kapoor (who plays Ayesha) tries hard to do that typical vivacious heroine. Something like Hema Malini of Sholay or Kareena Kapoor of Jab We Met. But it doesn't work. Childlike innocence is one thing, outright childishness is another. I mean, she hires a goon and offers him some coins in a jar as payment. That isn't cute, that's irritating. Even a 4 year old kid doesn't do that. The romance is lukewarm and looks forced. Ritesh Deshmukh's negative character (Rakesh) did have some interesting shades and his scenes with Amna Shareef (who plays his wife) and Kamal Rashid Khan (who plays his colleague) were a bit interesting in the beginning but very quickly he turns into the typical Bollywood villain. It's not the actors' fault. They did their job well. Director also did an OK job. But they can't go beyond the script. The script is bad. It is very shallow, clichéd and boring. The nonsense shown is insult to audience. People in the movie can just keep killing whoever they want without any repercussion; it seems the villain has divine powers - like he can find the house of the girl who he saw in the train instantly; the terminally ill heroine looks like a figure of health. I would not waste space on IMDb servers listing all the nonsense and plot-holes the movie has. If the script of a movie is interesting, all that can seem like cinematic liberty. But the script here is bad, as I said. Don't be fooled by the trailer, you'll regret. Watch it when it airs on TV. It'll be soon, it seems.

Mohit Suri, a popular name from Bhatt's camp, finally challenges himself and steps into an uncomfortable zone away from his usual romantic formula giving some-what satisfying revenge saga. Guru( played by Siddharth Malhotra) is a harsh, merciless hit-man whose life changes for good after he meets chirpy-bubbly Aisha. They enjoy every moment of their married life until one fine day a psychopath killer,frustrated from his nagging, venting out his anger at other women enters their life. I generally like Mohit Suri's films like Gangster, Woh Lamhe, Raaz 2 etc but did not quite enjoyed Ashiqui 2 so i was not expecting much from Ek Villain,thinking of it as another romantic movie with good songs where boy-does- not-meet girl in the end. But I was taken for a surprise as EK Villain kept me glued to the screen till the end. The movie begins with the main protagonist getting killed and sluggish romantic track is introduced. However, the film turns interesting with introduction of Ritesh who steals the show and the face-off between him and Siddarth is the highlight of the film. Climax could have been better, the cat-mouse game could have been more thrilling and screenplay with little crispiness would make the movie a thorough entertainer. Songs are good. Art direction and cinematography is outstanding. Ritesh Deshmukh surprises you with ruthless, simple- looking psychopath. He is expressive and does a marvelous job. Sidharth Malhotra's performance improves in the film. He expresses well through his eyes and intensity. Shraddha Kapoor equally impresses in her small role. Overall, Ek Villain could have been better. Commendable performances by Ritesh and Siddharth makes it a satisfying watch. Decent 2.75

movie is copy of a south Indian film(I don't remember the name). Story is same as other suspense based movies in Bollywood. You will love the songs as they go with the story. Acting is awesome by Ritesh but he appears very less on screen. Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor are in the lead roles, I expected very much from these actors but they did same as they did in their other movies. Overall I will give 8.5 out of 10 because of its story and music. You may love this movie if you don't know what is going to happen next, better you go as early as possible so that no one can spoil suspense on social networking site. At last I would like to say if you like Shraddha Kapoor then you will love this movie. KRK (Kamaal R khan) also appears and in this movie his acting is better than his own acting in Deshdrohi.

A gripping tale, the story is about Guru (sidharth) a tough guy who works for a don (remo) based in Goa. His life takes a turn when he sees Aisha (shraddha). They fall in love, get married and move to Mumbai. Guru decides to start a new life and everything begins falling in place. But one incident occurs and Aisha becomes the victim. Guru discovers it is Rakesh (riteish) but he is unable to figure out why he did that. How things unfold forms the rest. The director has come up with a thriller storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. Riteish Deshmukh was a revelation and he has excelled. Sidharth Malhotra is another exceptional talent, he was superb. Shraddha Kapoor added to the beauty with her bubbly presence. Aamna was apt, Kamaal Khan was alright, Remo Fernandez was apt, Asif Basra was adequate. It takes a good skill to blend a thriller with a romantic angle and develop the intensity. It must be said that this film was a good attempt on that line. The first half is somewhat on the softer side with elements of romance and some drama but the interval bang was promsing. The second half was equally intense and had its share of squeezing moments. Overall, this is a film stands tall because Ek Villain is a well made dark love story, with amazing music. The film does have some negatives like the story has a few loopholes,and some scenes feel clichéd but these are minor hiccups.Everything withstanding Ek Villain is a must watch.

First of all i would like to appreciate Sidharth Malhotra for his best acting and making this movie a good one to watch. The story of the film is OK and the plot of the movie is good. The song of the movie is really amazing especially Galliya song. Secondly i would like to appreciate Shraddha Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh to play a good role in the movie. Mohit Suri has done it again after giving musical romance hit like Aashiqui 2. This movie will do a great job at box office. RISK AT YOUR OWN RISK. I would really say go and rush to the multiplex for this movie. The song of the movie makes you all cherish and happy. GURU and AISHA love story makes us happy and certainly make the crowd go to the multiplex.

coincidentally, i watched "i saw the devil" yesterday (downloaded).....today i watched "ek villain" and to my surprise it was like a deja vu!! the first half is boring, stretched.......the songs are forcefully inserted! there is no chemistry between Siddharth n Shraddha. Ritesh's character as a trouble married man fails miserably. 2nd half is a copy-paste of "i saw the devil" minus the explicit n sexual content! the movie is not even half as good as the hype around it. all the three lead pairs don't know how to act. watch it only for the graceful Shraddha Kapoor.

Will try Not to be too harsh....But The much hyped movie of this year landed with a even bigger thud......I couldn't understand whether it was Ashiqui Part 3 or entirely a new movie.....or we can say an incompetent version of so many movies clumped together...while i was looking for something extra edgy...the movie was quite as anyone would have expected....There was basically no sto...ry ....and it was so disappointing...Mohit Suri's direction was terrible.....the narration was confusing and running haphazardly....Mr.ceaser with his accent was nothing more than a stand up comedian who failed to give u laughter doses even....The Police officer was the mos unnecessary edition.....what was inside Mohit's mind when he scripted for that role, i wonder.... Now what saved the movie......ACTING.....AND BEST MUSIC SCORES OF THE YEAR....Shraddha Kapoor surely knows how to act...she was simple, strong, edgy, chirpy, and was having perfect timing....she was so natural both in looks and acting, loved her. Siddharth,on the other hand , was able to break free of her chocolaty image and was stunning as angry young man with those long legs, rugged looks, cold voice , he was perfect for the role. What came out as a big surprise was RIteish, who delivered a great piece and can cherish it throughout his acting career...Thee were few scenes in the beginning, where the romance was blooming, which made me shed a few drops out of joy and love. Those scenes were so beautiful and perfect...every boy and girl would love to see themselves in their positions....beautifully picturised....like carrying her out of the hospital, those moments on hill top,catching butterfly, collecting pearls and many more....those scenes made me happy...and yes Prachi Desai was quite a stunnerr in that performances Actually what destroyed the movie, was Director's confusion about its theme...But Who is the Villain? Its for U to find out....M confused.. One Timer........Disappointed
