Ram Charan becomes youngest actor to get conferred with honorary doctorate by Vels University

In a momentous occasion, Vels University, Chennai, proudly conferred an honorary doctorate in Literature degree upon RRR star Ram Charan. The esteemed ceremony took place during the university's 14th Annual Convocation, where the star graced the event as the chief guest.

The university's official announcement, captioned, "Thiru. Ram Charan, Indian actor, film producer, and entrepreneur, receiving an honorary Doctor of Literature degree from Vels University at their 14th Annual Convocation," showcasing Ram Charan’s influence and prowess in the Indian cinema landscape. During the press conference, Ram Charan expressed his gratitude to the university for the honor, admitting his surprise and disbelief. He dedicated the doctorate to his directors, colleagues, audience, fans, and everyone who has supported him throughout his journey. Sources reveal that this prestigious recognition adds Ram Charan to the esteemed list of luminaries previously honored by Vels University, further solidifying his status as a distinguished figure in the global entertainment industry. He also stands to be the youngest with an Honorary Doctorate.

 

 

He has now said to have joined the ranks of Chief Guests in various Convocations and delivered the Convocation addresses including his Excellency Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India (2011), His Excellency Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu, Former Vice-President of India (2019), Honourable Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs, Government of India (2023), Honourable Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India (2021), His Excellency Dr.K.Rosaiah, Former Governor of Tamil Nadu (2012), His Excellency Thiru. Banwarilal Purohit, Former Governor of Tamil Nadu (2018), His Excellency Thiru. R.N.Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu (2022) and Honorable Dr.M.K.Stalin the then Deputy Chief Minister and Present Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (2010).

 

Meanwhile, speaking of his work commitments, Ram Charan is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film Game Changer, directed by S Shankar and starring Kiara Advani as his leading lady. The Pan India entertainer is marked to release this year in multiple languages. Along with that, he has also kicked off work on Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana’s film untitled venture RC16, co-starring Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor.
