Nani opens up on the ‘interesting concept’ of Surya’s Saturday; says, “Surya is a guy who cannot react or show his anger till Saturday”

Surya’s Saturday, starring Nani, is all set to hit the big screen in less than a week, and aims to bring a fresh twist to the action genre. Nani, this time, takes on the mass action role of Surya, a character who only fights and expresses his emotions on Saturdays. This unique storyline adds an exciting spin to the typical action film.

Recently while promoting the film Nani spoke about his character and gave us an insight of how this character is different. "This film is different from other action movies because this just doesn't run on action blocks or just the story. Surya is a guy who cannot react or show his anger till Saturday and he has to face an evil guy and for a purpose, for a reason, he has to fight him but all he has is one day and the other guy has all the week. So I think because of this concept, it makes this action film very, very interesting. So this is not just very different from what I have done, but I think from the films I have seen it is very different," said Nani.

 

He further gave a sneak peek into how he prepared for this role and added, "The real challenge was for director Vivek, who had to build and execute a story like this. I enjoyed working on it." Nani’s connection to Surya has helped him deliver an authentic and engaging portrayal, effortlessly blending action with emotional depth.

 

Based on a unique storyline the film tells the story of Surya who has struggled with anger management since he was a little boy and how his mother urges him to reserve all of his rage for one day each week. Directed by Vivek Athreya and produced by DVV Movies, the film also stars Priyanka Mohan and S.J. Suryah in key roles and is set to release in theatres on August 29, 2024.
