Malayalam filmmaker Joseph Manu James passes away before the release of his first film
On Friday, the team of the upcoming Malayalam film Nancy Rani woke up to the shocking news of their director Joseph Manu James passing away. The filmmaker was admitted to Rajagiri Hospital in Aluva, Ernakulam district wherein he was reportedly diagnosed with pneumonia whereas some others also claim that he was also diagnosed with hepatitis. The 31-year-old Kerala based filmmaker was expected to make his directorial debut with Nancy Rani, which is expected to release this year. Many of his colleagues from the industry including the team of his film extended their heartfelt condolences to his family.
The leading lady of the film Ahaana Krishna took to social media to express her condolence along with a ‘RIP’ message for the late director saying, “Rest in peace Manu! This shouldn't have happened to you!". Nancy Rani is also expected to feature Arjun Krishnan along with seasoned stars like Lal and Sreenivas. Aju Varghese, who is also a part of the film, took to Instagram to share a photo of Joseph Manu James deep in work as he captioned it with his condolence message saying, “Gone too soon brother <3 Prayers. ”
His funeral is expected to have held in Major Archiepiscopal Marth Mariam Archdeacon Church, Kuravilangad in Kottayam district on Sunday, February 2. He is survived by his wife Naina and siblings.
Talking about his debut film Nancy Rani, the film was expected to have completed its shoot schedule and the team was said to be working on its post-production. It was expected to feature an ensemble cast of Lal, Sreenivas, Sunny Wayne, Mallika Sukumaran, Lena, among others along with Ahaana Krishna and Arjun Ashokan.
