The trailer has taken social media by storm, with celebrities sharing their excitement on Instagram Stories. Prabhas, who previously worked with Prithviraj in Salaar, praised the trailer, writing, “Mohanlal sir’s presence is electrifying! This looks like a game-changer for Indian cinema. All the best to the team!” Karan Johar shared, “The scale, the drama, the intensity – L2: Empuraan is a visual treat! A Glimpse into a Power-Packed Sequel

 

L2: Empuraan, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, delves deeper into the past of Mohanlal’s character, Khureshi-Ab’raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally. The trailer showcases a fierce power struggle within a political party, with Mohanlal’s commanding, larger-than-life screen presence stealing the spotlight. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who also stars as the stylish Zayed Masood, brings his directorial finesse to the fore, crafting a cinematic spectacle that promises to captivate audiences across languages.

 

It is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies. The story, penned by Murali Gopy, weaves a tale of power, greed, betrayal, and vengeance, continuing the legacy of the Lucifer franchise. Distribution rights have been secured by top players, with Dil Raju’s SVC Cinemas handling the Telugu states, Anil Thadani’s AA Films covering North India, Hombale Films distributing in Karnataka, and Sree Gokulam Movies overseeing Tamil Nadu.

 

The film will be released on March 27, 2025.
