According to the latest buzz, the production house Mythri Movie Makers is planning to submit Pushpa 2 independently for the 97th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. The campaign is inspired by the success of RRR, which created waves at the 2023 Oscars.

 

A report by Mid-Day quoted a trade insider revealing, “The team plans to launch a massive lobbying strategy in Hollywood. This includes exclusive screenings, press engagements, and influencer campaigns in major U.S. cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Boston. The goal is to capture the attention of critics and Academy members, creating significant pre-Oscars buzz.”

 

Allu Arjun’s Role in the Promotion

 

Allu Arjun, who has received widespread acclaim for his performance, is set to lead the global promotional tour alongside the cast and crew. A 10-city tour is reportedly in the works, aimed at connecting with international audiences and critics. “Arjun’s presence adds significant value to the campaign,” said a source close to the project. “The team is confident that his performance and the film’s universal appeal will resonate with a global audience.”

Trade expert Ramesh Bala commented on the ambitious plans, stating, “It’s a long shot, but a worthy one. Pushpa 2’s global reach depends largely on its storytelling and accessibility. The Netflix release, scheduled eight weeks after its theatrical run, will also be crucial in determining its reception.”
