Supriya Pathak on family ties: “Shahid Kapoor is my son, and his children are my grandchildren”
Veteran actress Supriya Pathak recently shared heartfelt insights into her close-knit relationship with stepson Shahid Kapoor and his children. She also spoke about the importance of family bonds in their lives.
In a candid conversation with ANI, Supriya Pathak expressed her deep connection with her extended family, referring to Shahid Kapoor as her son and his children as her grandchildren. She asserted, “Shahid is my son, and his kids are my grandchildren. I share a great bond with both my grandchildren and as a family, we all put in efforts to strengthen our bonds.”
Pathak further added, “We are very family-oriented and believe in sticking together through thick and thin. I feel as generations pass, the bonds within families evolve. I have a friendlier and more open relationship with my daughter than I had with my mother.”
For those unfamiliar with the family dynamics, Supriya Pathak is married to renowned actor Pankaj Kapur, who is Shahid Kapoor's father. Pankaj Kapur was previously married to Neliima Azeem.
As the conversation progressed further, Supriya shed light on playing a variety of roles. She said, “Hansa was a unique character and it had a great impact on the audience, and then I portrayed Dhankor in Ramleela, which was different yet important and unique. I feel I’m offered more interesting roles now than I used to be in my youth. Nowadays, there’s so much happening, and the work I get is exciting."
On the professional front, Supriya Pathak is gearing up for the release of Gangster Ganga, which is set to start streaming on JioCinema on October 4.
