Siddhant Chaturvedi makes Korean debut with Chae Soo-bin in Crocs Japan ad

Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has officially gone international, and in the most unexpected way. The Gully Boy star has made his Korean media debut opposite K-drama sweetheart Chae Soo-bin in a brand-new commercial for Crocs Japan. The campaign, which dropped online this week, has quickly become a trending topic on social media for its unusual pairing, soft rom-com aesthetics, and oddly magnetic energy.

Set against the backdrop of a moody, rain-soaked street, the ad kicks off with Chae Soo-bin walking calmly when a car speeds past and splashes her with muddy water. Cue the classic meet-cute. The driver? Siddhant Chaturvedi, looking flustered as he deals with a flat tyre. Soo-bin offers him an umbrella, and what follows is a cutesy, flirty walk under the rain that ends with her splashing his shoes in return.

Fans across the globe were left both charmed and scratching their heads. “Korean actress Chae Soo-bin with Indian actor Siddhant Chaturvedi filmed in India for a Crocs Japan ad… what kind of crossover is this?” one user asked on X (formerly Twitter). Another joked, “I can’t tell if I like or dislike Siddhant Chaturvedi in this Korean-style rom-com, but I think he should be the first Indian actor to headline a K-drama (that’s not made by Ekta Kapoor).”

 

But not everyone was impressed. Some pointed out that Siddhant appeared visibly lighter-skinned in the visuals. “Korean team had whitewashed him for this ad to blend,” wrote one fan, while another said, “How much whitening has to be done to be in this ad lol.” A third user hilariously summed up the sentiment: “This looks so AI-generated help.”
